No one wants to live a unhealthy life, I made the choice to change mine for the good April 2018, it’s not just cutting out foods for a day or 2 or trying new things, it’s about being consistent with yourself and living a heathy life style. It took me hitting a brick wall before I could fully change my ways. No going 🔙. Yes I have a long way to go but each day is a new day to finsh your workset/up your weight/better your time. I’m often asked “what kind of exercise should I do?” My answer is always the same: “how do you like to move your body?” 🤔 . There is no right or wrong way to be physically active. The 9th (out of 10) intuitive eating principle encourages self exploration around exercise: ✅what kind of physical activity do you enjoy? ✅what are the benefits of being active for you? ✅what are your barriers to physical activity? ✅are your expectations about activity realistic? . It’s true, physical movement offers many potential health benefits: chronic disease risk reduction, increased or maintained bone density, improved sleep quality, + increases in strength and balance. . However, activities done for the wrong reasons (eg, seeking weight loss) or in an exhaustive manner (when sick, too tired, or under-fueled) are not helpful. . Mindful exercise: 1️⃣rejuvenates, rather than exhausts or depletes 2️⃣enhances mind-body connection 3️⃣alleviates stress 💆‍♀️ 4️⃣provides enjoyment . For me, a variety of physical activities suits my interests best -sometimes a group class, other times a solo walk outside while listening to an audio book or podcast 🎧. I have learned to be less rigid around exercise 🏃🏻‍♀️over time and will often take days off to sleep 💤 in when needed. . How would you assess your own relationship with physical activity?

G I F T O F I M P E R F E C T I O N 🌿 - As I reflect on 2018, I realized that I spent much of this year in the messy middle of my fitness journey. Outwardly I've made very little progress in terms of losing weight or toning up, which I've to admit was often frustrating. But inwardly I've grown so much and I feel better mentally and emotionally than I ever have before. - 2018 taught me perhaps for the first time, to have a relationship with myself outside of my physical appearance. It forced me to expand my view of fitness beyond flat abs and slim physique. To celebrate my efforts and to focus on how movement makes me feel even when I didn't see external results. And when I did that, fitness started becoming a journey of self-discovery and overcoming limiting believes. And that mindset shift is helping me get better and better at embracing my imperfections and silencing the inner critic. It has also enabled me to be present in other aspects of my life because I'm not caught up in my limited definition of fitness and self-imposed timelines. - 2018 was about blooming in the meantime. And 2019 will be about thriving, not only in my fitness journey but also in my roles as a mom, wife, and content creator💕
