Here are four ways sugar can negatively impact your health. . According to the American heart association, large quantities of sugar can increase obesity which in turn increases heart disease. . Consuming too much sugar increases issues with blood glucose level and can lead to obesity and this can cause type 2 diabetes. This type of diabetes can sometimes cause kidney damage. . Ages Your Skin - As you consume more sugar, it attaches to the collagen in your skin. Once attached, it makes your collagen more brittle making it hard for your skin to repair itself. . Triggers Depression - Sugar can alter your hormonal reactions that cause depression and anxiety, irritability, fatigue in your body. . . .
