SPICY VEGETARIAN PASTA 🥗INGREDIENTS: ♦️PASTA 1 or 2 Cups ♦️BEANS 25g ♦️CARROT 25g ♦️PEAS 25g ♦️ONIONS 1 or 2 ♦️GREEN CHILLIES 4-5 nos. ♦️DRY CHILLI FLAKES 1 Tsp. ♦️CUMIN SEEDS ♦️TOMATO SAUCE 2-3Tsp. ♦️MUSTARD SAUCE 1Tsp. ♦️SOYA SAUCE 1/2 Tsp. ♦️GINGELY OR OLIVE OIL ♦️SALT TO TASTE ♦️BLACK OLIVES (Chopped) ♨️METHOD: 🌶️Boil pasta using double cooking method in electric cooker. Add pasta, few drops of oil, water and little bit of salt. 🌶️Chop the vegetables mentioned above and keep it aside. Boil peas, carrot and beans in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles maximum. 🌶️Now take a frying pan add oil and heat it. Salt intake & iodine deficiency Iodine is an essential element needed for the production of thyroid hormone. We cannot produce iodine so it is necessary to include various food sources rich in iodine, such as iodized table salt, cheese, cows and soy milk, eggs, frozen yogurt and ice cream, seaweed. Iodine is naturally present in soil and seawater but the availability differs in various regions of the world. Iodine deficiency can lead to enlargement of the thyroid (goiter), hypothyroidism and to intellectual disabilities in children and infants. Approximately 30 % of the worlds population remains at risk for iodine deficiency. Iodized salt has been the mainstay of the prevention of iodine deficiency worldwide. However, surplus of sodium has contributed to a host of cardiovascular problems, such as hypertension, stroke, heart attack and heart failure. Interestingly enough, 75-90 % of sodium in the average American's diet comes from prepared or processed food which mostly doesn't contain iodized salt. That makes processed food a great place to start decreasing your sodium intake. You would need more than half a teaspoon of iodized salt to get all your iodine straight from the salt (which is already 2/3 of the recommended sodium intake by the American Heart Association), so it might be a better idea to partially get it from other, already mentioned, food sources.
