I just want to gently remind you that you are never too much, you aren’t too much, what happened to you was too much. What you’ve been through is too much. 💡R U N N I N G 💡 This morning I felt frazzled, anxious and a sense of dread for what today has in store. Not much sleep and a 4:30am wake up call for a biscuit could have had something to do with it 😂 In a Fuck This moment I put on my running gear for the first time in MONTHS! Lo and behold as soon as the kids got wind of me wanting to leave they started acting up. Clingy, demanding, selfish little assholes 😂 But I persevered and eventually got out the door to enjoy 40 minutes alone time PLUS 2 solo pees 🙌🏼 Thanks postpartum bladder. It felt so so good to run again. I forget, or don't let myself remember, how much I need this. How much I miss it! And this view! Wow we live in a beautiful city. Wish I could say I came back feeling less tired, but I do feel a lot less anxious, more equipped for the day and well a little accomplished actually...Maybe even a lot. ➡️Dug out my old cap. A reminder that 3 years ago I ran a marathon in just over 4 hours and I can get there again. Not that I have any intention of running another marathon but I can do anything if I set my mind to it. Next mission online shopping for new running shoes 👟 while baby naps and then a beautiful day with the little assholes that I love so dearly. Not only do I want them to know the pain they caused I wanna get back at them and make them feel the same as they way they made me feel. This is why I always take a couple of days before I react to anything. I normally start of feeling really angry and wanting to shout and swear. I meditate everyday and re think my reaction. As time goes on my reaction gets better until a couple of days have passed and I either don’t feel I need to react or I respond with something from my heart. I always feel so much better after as my reaction hasn’t been from anger or hurt. It’s come from a place of love. I never want to walk away feeling bad for how I’ve reacted. If you walk away with love the only person that can feel bad about the way they treated you is them. ‘He’s my human version of a walking stick. He comes with me pretty much everywhere I go. He willingly takes time off work to attend hospital appointments with me and if we’re not together, he’s only ever a phone call or a message away. He’ll lay with me in bed on my sick days or he’ll come with me on adventures at silly times of the evening when I suddenly feel a little okay to do things. I’ve found it hard in the past finding someone or being with someone who really doesn’t understand, who doesn’t get it. It’s hard because why would they understand? Why would they get my pain? I don’t ever wish it upon anyone to experience it but all I’ve ever asked for is a little compassion. This one took me under his wing from the get go. From the minute we both swiped right. Yes we met on tinder😂🙈 and I haven’t looked back since. Never settle for someone that doesn’t understand. Find your worth. Find your human and hold onto them. I’ll forever be grateful for this one ... 🥰♥️

Do you practice self care? Are you showing your team it’s ok to feel overwhelmed and help introduce mechanisms for coping? Do you know those feelings of inadequacy and stay quiet about them out of fear of being found out? As a leader it’s your responsibility to show your team a good example! To teach them it’s ok to be feeling less than 100% and to introduce ways of helping with those feelings! But do you know how? So many of my clients are leaders who are coming to terms with their own imposter syndrome ( and learning to boss it!) yet few know how to raise the subject with others and lead by example. First you start with you and then work outwards.... be prepare to share your own experiences.... and how you are overcoming your own challenges.
