So this week I made it my mission to perform a muscle up with good technique and not just buckle over the bar. So today I finally did it!!! Here are some attempts that failed and that's normal you need to learn somehow and mistakes are the best way. Finally at the end I did it💪 that's a real smile guys😁 @joshkarstenzzz for the main motivation and advice 👊

Vid of a core workout I did a couple of weeks before my injury, don't worry guys! . . So, I TRIED a push press shuffle move... and maaan that ish was hard ASF to coordinate LOL, but stay with me I'll get it! As usual, 10 of each move, 3 times and I was done with core *we ain't friends just acquaintances 🙃* . . Even when life is crazy and you have a million things in your mind, make time for the simple moments. - The mom guilt is real when I have to be away for school and work majority of the week and weekends. Missing out on going to the park, building blocks, dance parties and cuddling for a movie. So while I have a to-do list a mile long in my head and some anxiety setting in, I’ve learned to live in the moment more and take advantage of the simple things. - This coaching “thing” has taught me so much about time management, making the most of the moments I do have and working my a$$ off to help myself and other mamas not miss these moments in the future. - It’s easy to feel guilty for missing out on time and memories, but it’s about using the time you do have and working hard to make changes for the future moments together. #momguilt #liveinthemoment #makememories

I’ve always been a proponent of putting children into sports at an early age. Winning and achieving goals alongside season-long teammates, brothers and sisters in battle, can be so fun and so highly rewarding.🙌🏻 . But LOSING, the moments of failure...that’s the good shit. It may not seem like it at the time, but if you pay attention, that’s where the invaluable life lessons are learned.☝🏻 . You can put in all the work, all the time, make all the necessary sacrifices to achieve your goals. And guess what; it guarantees you NOTHING. Whether it’s finances, your career, your dating life...shits going to feel unfair at times. That’s life.🤷🏻‍♂️ . After 9 months of extremely dedicated work, one of my healthiest seasons to date, I suffered a running injury just 4 weeks out from #imchoo. For the 4 weeks leading up to race day I could not run at all. Rather than sulking, I put all focus into sharpening my swim/bike training. This year has been by far my largest block of swimming EVER; nearly 100,000 yards over the last 9 months.🏊🏻‍♂️ . As @pgh_tri_mandy and I were walking out the door for the 10 hour drive to Tennessee, we received the news that the swim had been canceled.💆🏻‍♂️ . Between the canceled swim, and my injury not fully healing in time (forcing me to pull out of the race 5 miles into the marathon...my first ever DNF), my day turned into the world’s most expensive century ride.💸🚴🏻‍♂️ . Losing. That’s the good shit. Rest period between sets 1 1/2 - 2min. Rest period between sets 1 min . When starting this workout . Take a longer rest of need. I also at first split the workout over 2 gym visits during the day. Pace yourself in the beginning. Workout - Barbell chest press , 5 sets / 12, 10,10,8,6 - chest or dumbbell fly , 4 sets / 12 reps - Smith machine row , 4 sets / 12 reps - reverse fly or dumbbell bent over lateral raise , 3 sets / 15 reps - dumbell shoulderpress , 5 sets / 15, 12 , 10, 8 ,6 - lateral raise. , 3set /15reps - front raise , 3sets / 15reps. 💞Happy Friday guys💞 . . Bit of a long one but stay with me lol! #skepta . . So it's finally the end of what felt like a really long week for me. I have only been to the gym ONCE, before I was ordered to rest and allow my body to recover. This was a challenge for me for a number of reasons. . . 📌1. I thought all my hard work was being and would be lost within my week of rest. 📌2. My safe haven, ' The Gym' was taken away from me! What if I slipped back into that old, self destructive way of thinking? What if all my insecurities and anxiety issues came flooding back? Would I be able to handle them? 📌3. I hate sitting down not doing anything...how the heck was I gonna burn all this energy?? . . You know what, I'VE ACTUALLY ENJOYED IT! . . ➕1.NO, my body hasn't changed, the gains I have aquired are still there lol I was being irrational! ➕2. I opened up and spoke to someone when I felt any sort of negetive energy creeping into my head. I NEVER do this but it felt great! And this drew me closer to someone I thought i couldn't get any closer to. I'm grateful 🙏🏾 ➕3. I poured all that extra energy into my son. Extra activities before bedtime were on the agenda and he took full advantage of the extra time with Mummy. This encouraged me to take the entire week off (No back day😱) But we are swimming together on Saturday. . . It's important to allow yourself to rest and recover, firstly, you avoid injuring yourself further, delaying your progress in the long run. . . But also allows for reflection. What's worked/What hasn't? Are your goals still the same? Are they realistic? What are your small successes?
